Spice Girls singer Mel B to receive Order of the British Empire

Former Spice Girls singer Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, will be receiving the Order of the British Empire for helping the victims of domestic abuse.

A foreign news agency reported that the singer offers assistance to people suffering from domestic abuse. The singer has been a victim of it and spoke about her experience as well.

It is pertinent to mention that Melanie Brown ended her 10-year marriage with Stephen Belafonte back in 2018. She then partnered with Women’sAid to help people from abuse as well.

A source said that she truly deserved to receive the OBE as she has undergone the trauma and is campaigning against the social issue as well.

“It is well deserved,” the source was quoted saying in the report. “Despite her achievements in music and TV she believes her campaigning is the most important thing she’s ever done.

“Not only does she have first-hand experience of it, but she has met many women who have suffered. She has a real fire in her belly about campaigning.”

The Spice Girls singer recently partnered with Women’s Aid in a video that was about a woman suffering from domestic violence and making attempts to escape from a toxic relationship.
